Glass Storage & Handling

Whether you are receiving the glass on site, replacing a piece of glass, or moving it around for maintenance/cleaning purposes, it is extremely important the glass is handled with care.
  • Always place glass on carpet, cardboard, of foam pads
  • Never place glass directly on a hard surface or floor
  • Never rest or set glass on any of the four corners
  • Move glass with glass cups or glass cart
Store glass in safe, weather protected area

Installation Notes

  • Blocking required where door & rail connector kit are installed
  • For blocking 2 x 4 or 14 gauge steel strapping required
  • Verify plumb and true openings prior to installation
  • Ensure hardware does not directly come in contact with glass
  • Verify all required parts, gaskets, bumpers, etc. are provided and installed
  • Use only manufacturer’s glass•Use silicone to seal all U-Channel and fixed panels in place to prevent water leakage
  • Installation Instructions might vary - please check with manufacturer to ensure you have the latest version

Glass Cleaning

Glass must be cleaned properly to not ruin the surface of the glass and maintain its structure.
  • For the best results, your enclosure should be cleaned with a squeegee or clean dry cloth
  • Always use a mild soap or glass cleaning solution
  • Do not use soaps, shower products, or cleaning products that contain abrasives or are acid based when cleaning the shower enclosure.
  • Be careful not to scratch the surface during cleaning. Do not use cleaning mixture containing bleaching ingredients/chlorine.
  • Keep the surface clean of any kind of material attachments or contaminants, such as dust, particles, dirty liquid, fingerprints or stains.
  • Use soft clean cloth, bristle brush or sponge and a neutral/mild cleaning liquid or warm soft water to clean the surface for attachments that are easy to clean.
  • Do not use steel wool or an abrasive tool
  • In hard water areas, or areas where water drops dry and leave a noticeable dust mark, a build-up of minerals may occur. As needed white vinegar should be used to wipe down the glass with a soft sponge.
Prohibited Products: Note these may damage the treatment and void any warranty
  • Avoid the use of any harsh or chemical cleaners, with correct maintenance these are never required
  • Avoid the use of any abrasives or polishes including Water Spot Removers, Toothpaste, Polishes, Rough, or Gritty substances
  • Avoid the use of Acids of Alkalis that you would not want in contact with your skin for an extended period of time.

Hardware Cleaning

  • For all hardware, apply water and soap and scrub gently with a soft material. Do not use abrasive pads or wire brushes or type of material that will leave scratches or remove the finish.
  • Cleaners containing bleach or are high in alkaline or considered abrasive will eat away at the finish or overtime you may also have brown streaks or dots left behind on the hardware.
  • Do not clean the inside of the hinges.
  • Do not use steel wool or an abrasive tool

Maintenance Checklist

Maintenance Checklist – Sliding Shower doors
  • Ensure stoppers are in proper place so that door doesn’t slam into wall
  • Stoppers are tight
  • Rollers are tight
  • Any sort of anti-drop, bumpers, or fixed panel attachments are secure and in place
  • Handles and towel bars are secure and free from rust
  • All seals are tight and not discolored
  • Rollers are free from obstruction and move smoothly on the track
  • Glass Moves freely through floor guides

Maintenance Checklist – Swing Shower doors
  • Hinges are secured to the wall (check that all screws are secure and in place)
  • Hinges move freely and without obstruction
  • Handles and towel bars are secure and free from rust
  • All seals are tight and not discolored
